Our History

Paris & Washington Townships Home Insurance Company was organized in 1881 by a group of farmers as an assessment mutual company. The name of the company came from the local townships in Stark County in which the farmers lived. The perils covered at the time were fire, storm and lightning. The policyholders were assessed at the end of each year to pay their proportionate share of the company's expenses for that year.

On August 5, 2005, the company merged into itself the former Butler & Goshen Township Mutual Aid Society, an Ohio Mutual Protective Association. As a result of the merger, the policyholders of Butler & Goshen Township Mutual Aid Society became policyholders of Paris & Washington Townships Home Insurance Company.

As the company grew and expanded its operations, the company has contracted with insurance agencies in order to offer company's policies throughout the state of Ohio.
